About the Author-Susan Breier

With my working days behind me I had everyone’s dream---early retirement.  After several years of enjoying myself I became bored and hard pressed for something more meaningful to fill my time.

While doing a self-assessment I remembered just how much pleasure sewing had always brought to me.  Many forms of crafts have interested me since childhood.  Starting with hand sewn doll clothes and embroidery work my interests went through many transitions.  Later, building on skills I have gained from various classes I had taken, life brought me to this versatile form of fiber art.

What Is This Method All About?

This is an easy method of wrapping and coiling line and fabric together.  The covered line is formed into rows on your sewing machine.  By using different lightweight fabrics, changing the shape and colors, adding different handles and embellishments each project becomes a unique piece.  The possibilities are endless!

The method uses several simple steps to create any of the pieces shown in the gallery and in my book, "It’s a Wrap".  Whether you are a beginner or a seasoned sewer you will be amazed at what you can create using this method.

Using scraps or a single piece of fabric the results are equally special.  All lengths of line are useable with a simple joining method.  No waste!  The shape of your piece can be changed anytime throughout the project.

I make a point of playing with this method often, especially after finishing a more challenging sewing item.  Take a break from quilting perfection and sew up something fun and unusual!
